Actually, you don't really need the wooden frame. All I did was attach the screen with mesh to the edge of the cut out opening.with glue. No chance of them crawling between the mesh and plastic edge. Never had a problem with it. 😊 Not my idea. Another video uploader a long time ago. Actually, another suggestion: I'd buy a plastic container without any internal indentations like this one has for the handles. Some of the eggs will get caught around the edges between the plastic and the mesh and won't be able to hatch. That's another reason to glue the mesh in. If you don't mind that, don't worry about it. It's unlikely that it will happen with a standard rectangular plastic container with the mesh glued in onto the small edge left. Plus, you will have more room for your beetles. Just a little more. Not much, I suppose. A lot for them! 😅 Anyway, it's up to you. 😊

Great video BUT BE SURE TO USE A METAL WINDOW SCREEN MATERIAL...PROBABLY ALUMINUM. I USED plastic and one day found the beetles had chewed one small hole and they ALL got into the lower bin and were eating the eggs and hatched worms. Months of waiting for nothing
